Zoom FAQ

Welcome to the SNAP Online Community!!

SNAP offers an exciting lineup of educational, conversational, and exercise classes, five days a week.  The schedule of these classes goes out on a weekly basis. All participants must be registered with the SNAP Online Community.

What do I need in order to participate?

You must fill out the SNAP Online Community registration form. You need a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone that have either internet or wifi capability. You must have a camera if you are looking to follow the exercise routines. However, you do not need one to enjoy an educational lecture, or discussion class. We would love for you to just listen in.

How can I do this?

SNAP will be offering these classes via Zoom Conferencing. Zoom is free, and you do not have to have a personal account to use it. However, you do need to download the application onto your device (desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone). You can download Zoom onto your device here:

https://zoom.us/download

How do I know if the device I am using is compatible?

Zoom offers plenty of support. To make sure that your computer operating system is compatible with Zoom conferencing you can check here:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362023—System—Requirements—for—PC—and—Mac

Once I download the application, how do I know where to find the class I want to take?

When a class is offered, an email will be sent to you in advance, inviting you to join the class. The email will contain a link to that class. Once the application is downloaded Zoom should launch automatically when you click on the link.

If you have not downloaded the application, a request to download will pop up when you click on the link. Just click download and then run. Most of the time Zoom will then launch automatically. If it does not, you can go back to the email and click on the original link to get it to launch.

If you would like to watch a video about how to participate in a Zoom class, you can watch it here:

How do I apply the information on the flyer to Zoom?

The SNAP online schedule includes the Meeting ID # for each individual class. Remember, just because the class has the same name, if it occurs more than once a week each day and time will have its own Meeting ID # and password. You can visit:

https://zoom.us/join

and then enter the Meeting ID # unique to the class you wish to attend.

Is there any other information required?

Yes! Every class needs a password to enter. The passwords are listed on the weekly schedule.

What if I have other questions about Zoom Conferencing?

Zoom’s website also has a help center that will answer any questions you may have. Click on this link:

and then click on the “meetings and webinars” tab.

Best of luck. Can’t wait to see you online!! Stay safe, stay healthy!
